Mumu's Pilgrimage is an RPG where you play as Mumu, a cat girl who is tasked with making a pilgrimage to all shrines of Bastet in order to prepare for her anointment as priestess of the feline goddess.

Travel the island of Folia Gatas, a place full of rats, monsters, elves, cats people and men, explore for treasure, meet friends and be the paragon of the way of Bastet to the rest of the world.

The design of the game is inspired by old-school rogue-likes and table-top RPGs. It also references other games unrelated to RPGs that I enjoy. See if you can figure which they are!

You can play with mouse & keyboard or a controller. Check the screenshots to see the controls.

Mumu's Pilgrimage is open source. It's assets are under the creative common. Please, visit the Github page here: https://github.com/prdepinho/simple-rpg-engine/tree/mumu

This is really impressive! I enjoyed the art and open-ended gameplay quite a bit. Do you know if anyone else has built anything with the engine?

Thank you very much! I don't know if anyone else is using this engine. As far as I know, these are the only two games that use it. I am really glad you enjoyed it.

Heya, it seems to me like the Linux zip might be invalid? I tried a few different unzippers on it (including 7zip, partial extraction but broken result).

I was able to get the win version running under WINE fine, tho.

I'll investigate the issue. Thank you for notifying me.

I've updated the linux build. Try it out now and see if it works.

Yes, it is working now. Thank you!

Cool D&D gameplay, with skill checks, open-ended events and stat-based turn-based combat, thanks for sharing.

Although I haven’t completed the game yet, I think this is a pretty neat game! It was really fun to figure things out, make different choices, and discover cool things. It’s a surprisingly detailed game! I definitely will go back and complete it!

Two things:

  1. I wasn’t able to launch the game through the itch.io app, so it’d be great if you could fix that! (The exe file was a hidden away a little)
  2. I noticed there was a console that appears when playing the game, it’d be nice if there was a way to hide that!

Keep up the great work!

Thank you for the feedback. Can you believe I didn't know there was an Itch.io app? I'll make sure it launches there as well!
